Pepe's Mexican Cafe
Our Story
Pepe's Mexican Cafe, (or "Pepe Taco", as the long-time customers still call us) was opened in Bryan, Texas in October 1969 by Ken Martin, as one of the very first "fast food" restaurants in the Bryan / College Station area.
Just over a mile from the Texas A&M campus, Pepe's has been operated by Ken's son Kip, BHS '80 and TAMU '86, since 2012. Many former students have told us they love to come back and visit just to get this Taste of Aggieland again.
We are a true Aggieland tradition and our customers love our diverse menu full of Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites that are made fresh, on-site, every day, including tacos (breakfast, soft, crispy, veggie, super, fish, golden, etc), burritos (12 different kinds!), fajitas, salads, dinner plates, award-winning queso and salsas, and delicious desserts.
Tex-Mex food is a fusion of United States and Mexican cuisine that comes from the culinary mastery of Tejanos. Common ingredients in Tex-Mex food are shredded cheese, meat, beans, and spices. Some of the most popular Tex-Mex dishes are nachos, fajitas, and chili con queso. Here at Pepe's Mexican Cafe, you'll find all your favorite Tex-Mex dishes. We encourage you to try something new today! Super Taco, Frito Pie, Queso Burrito, or Apple Burrito (dessert), ALL of our menu items are made fresh right here in the store!
At Pepe's we know how important low prices are to our customers. We offer great Tex-Mex food that never skimps on flavor, quality, or customer satisfaction, at surprisingly low prices. At Pepe's, we believe you just can't get anywhere near as much delicious food, for less money, anywhere else. Period. Except maybe Grandma's house.
